Peter joined Australian Centre for Innovation in 2001 as one of the Directors. Currently Chairman - Australian Building Codes Board, Chairperson - Victorian Learning and Employment Skills Commission, Chair – Community Advisory Council, Chairman – Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited, Chairman – CSIRO Energy Sector Advisory Committee, Member – Council for Knowledge, Innovation, Science and Engineering, Deputy Chairman – Leadership Victoria, Member – Gambling Research Panel and Director – WorkPlacement.

Previously worked in a range of positions with BHP (1959 – 1998), Chancellor - Victoria University of Technology (1995-2000), Chair – National Board of Employment Education and Training (1992 – 1997).
