New technologies offer unprecedented opportunities for economic growth and community wellbeing, but only if Australians are ready to adapt and learn, according to a new report from the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA). Technology and Australia’s Future explores what it takes to win in the technology race and manage the human costs of disruptive technology.

Australia’s Chief Scientist Professor Ian Chubb launched the report in Canberra in September. Ron Johnston was a member of the ACOLA Expert Working Group which produced this important report. A short summary is available under ‘Publications’. The full report can be accessed at http://www.acola.org.au/index.php/projects/securing-australia-s-future/project-5
